I feel like everyone goes all out for Mother’s Day and when it come to Father’s Day they are no longer trying (or no longer trying as hard as they did for mother’s day), I get it that summer is in full swing and there is so much to do but your dad deserves some love! Dad deserves just as much credit for working hard to provide an awesome life for us. So, here are some gifts that are outside of the norm that will show him how much you care.
Dad’s love watches, use this time to splurge on a really awesome watch for dad. Spend a bit more than you would on yourself.

WHAT DAD REALLY WANTS
My parents always complains that I never spend enough time with them, as I am sure you does too. Buy them a ticket to visit you. Since you don’t know the exact dates, give them an IOU, set the date immediately and send them the ticket (well, e-ticket.)
Haha, yeah- someone is going to try to slap me for that one. What I mean was that my parent’s are always misplacing their keys, so the perfect gift for is the key chain finder. This is possibly the best $40 you will ever spend.
HIS FAVORITE SHOW
Get him the boxed DVD set of his favorite movie, show or special. Might I recommend the following:
The Lord of The Rings
Field of Dreams
The Big Lebowksi
The James Bond Series
The Blues Brothers
National Lampoon’s Vacation
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Black Hawk Down
12 Angry Men
THE GIFT OF DRINK
I am addicted to my Soda Stream, I think dad would love it as well. Hee can add fresh limes, oranges and other flavors and still have the fizzle without the calories. I am sure your mother would appreciate the help in making dad eat healthier. Buy him this as well as some natural flavors to add in, leave the artificial sweeteners in the store, your doing this for his health, no need to negate the sweet intention with poison.
HIS FAVORITES IN A GIFT BASKET
I like to go to a store and put together a basket of things my dad would loves. Add a chocolates, golf ts, funny t shirts, polos, gym shoes, sandals, a watch, a hat, jersey, sunglasses, water bottles (BPA-free of course) and his favorite healthy treats. Pick a theme, something that your dad will totally love such as health, fitness, football, tennis, meat, bbq, liquor, nature, excitement, technology or whatever he loves. Then build the basket around that.
It is personalized for your dad and he will love the amount of thought and love put into selecting each item.
GIVE HIM HOPE AND SHOW HIM HOW HE HAS IMPACTED YOUR LIFE AND MADE YOU INTO THE PERSON YOU ARE
Some fathers don’t want gifts because their hearts are so big that it is already filled with love and everything they could ever want. Or they just already have everything they could ever want or need. Why not do some good in your father’s name?
Oxfam America will help mothers around the world as you celebrate your father. You can donate a mosquito net, give a pair of kids goats or train a midwife properly in a third world country. So many options to make a world a bit better, just the way your father has made yours!
Is you dad an animal lover? Why not make a donation to the local shelter in his name? Better yet, go to Costco or your local store and buy tons of dog food, cat food, toys, beds, cleaning products and treats and deliver it to the shelter together. What most people don’t realize is that these shelters are so desperate for beds, food, toys and even volunteers. Many of these poor pets are sleeping on the cold concrete floors and getting sick constantly. Go help out, give something to the poor animals and in the end, you win out! They will be so thankful for the donations and you did something together. Did I mention that it is all tax deductible? Cause it is!!
Are you super crafty?? You can actually make pet beds for the shelter for super cheap and go donate them with dad. Here are a few crafty ideas that don’t take much time, materials or effort!
Regardless of what you choose to buy your dad, just remember to show him how much you truly love him and appreciate him. Our time together is limited so make every second count!
