I am dedicating this week to protein shakes and smoothies. It is the perfect way to start your day when you are on the run. I personally drink a protein shake every single day. I like to mix it up with different ingredients so I don’t get sick of the same old thing.
1 cup coconut milk, soy milk, almond milk or plain milk
1-2 scoops of high quality, cold-pressed protein powder
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
1 tablespoon sweetener (I use stevia but this is not necessary)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
By freezing the yogurt in an ice cube tray over night, you are not diluting the the drink. This is a great trick to keep your drink cold and thick.
Combine the ingredients together in a blender and blend until smooth.
This serves 2 or 1 very hungry person.
