I am obsessed with avocados! They are so rich and creamy that you feel like you are indulging in something bad. Don’t believe the bad reputation avocados have gotten over the years. You have to first understand that fats are not all the same.
Avocados are high in fat, but the kind of fat we want- monounsaturated fats. This kind of fat helps you lower blood cholesterol levels.
Their benefits don’t stop there. Did you know that avocados also contain fiber, potassium, and vitamins C, K, folate and B6?
So add half of an avocado to your meal and know that you just did you body a whole lot of good! Looking for ideas to incorporate avocados into your diet? Here are a few of my favorite ideas:
Add to your salad
Add as a topping to your omelets or even in it
Add to your favorite sandwich
Make avocado mayo by blending together equal parts mayo and avocado
Add to your chicken or tuna salad sandwich
Grill and top with the usual baked potato toppings
Add ½ an avocado to your smoothie
Incorporate into your creamy pasta sauce
