Soft As A Cloud-Buttercream Frosting

Butter Cake Dedicated to Julia Child & Soft As A Cloud Buttercream FrostingOMG, this recipe is amazing. The texture is like soft clouds in your mouth. Never too sweet but always perfection!

Makes 3 cups of frosting goodness

2 cups unsalted butter, at room temperature
4 1/2 cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons heavy cream
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

This requires an electric mixer. With the whisk or paddle attachment whip the butter on high-speed until the butter is very fluffy and white. This will take 7-9 minutes. Scrape the sides of the bowl down to ensure every bit of the butter has been whipped to perfection.

Add the remaining ingredients and beat on a low-speed to incorporate everything together. Then blend at medium speed to get the mixture back to a light and fluffy consistency. This will take 4-6 minutes. Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Have leftover frosting? Don’t fret my friend; here is how you can use it up:

*Place it between two cookies (butter, vanilla wafers, anything works) to make a lovely cookie sandwich (you can also roll the edges in chocolate, coco powder or sprinkles)

*Mix it with a bit of milk and freeze in Popsicle molds for a great treat

*Freeze it for later use

*Add to your oatmeal at breakfast for an indulgent treat

*Place the frosting in ice-cube mold and add it to your iced coffee

*Spread it on a slice of toasted bread and sprinkle some cinnamon and nutmeg and call it a day
