Yogurt sauces tend to be cooling and refreshing and sometimes, even boring. I like to jazz it up with fresh jalapenos and spices to give it an added kick. I love serving this as a dip but add a few additional ingredients to help transform it. This is a great recipe because you can even use it as a marinade for chicken or lamb before grilling. Very versatile and delicious.
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
1 jalapeno, seeded and minced
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
6 tablespoons cilantro, minced
DIRECTIONS
Mix all of the ingredients together and place in an airtight container and refrigerate for an hour before serving. Serve on the Chicken and Vegetable Pita or with pita chips as a dip. If serving as a dip, add 1/2 diced onions, 1/2 red bell pepper and 1/4 cup feta cheese.
